Professional standards that mirror TPB expectations.

This page summarises the policies IRTA enforces for voting members. Draft PDFs exist for each policy and will be published here once the board signs them off. Until then, this page captures the requirements so regulators can see what is coming.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE)

Voting members must complete annual CPE hours relevant to their practice and keep evidence for IRTA audits. Draft policy: IRTA_CPE_Policy_v0.9.pdf (pending publication).

Good fame, integrity & character

The Voting Member Registration Form includes a statutory declaration that the applicant is of good fame, integrity, and character. Membership is revoked if this ceases to be true.

Code of Ethics

Members must act in the public interest, comply with tax law, avoid conflicts, and notify IRTA of any regulator sanctions. Draft PDF: IRTA_Code_of_Ethics_v0.9.pdf.

Disciplinary process

The Disciplinary Committee investigates complaints, conducts hearings, and can impose sanctions up to termination of membership. Clause references will be added once the Constitution is final.

Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance

Any member in public practice must maintain PI cover that meets TPB thresholds and provide proof at admission and annual renewal. Draft policy: IRTA_PI_Policy_v0.9.pdf.

Registration form

The IRTA Voting Member Registration Form collects credentials, referee details, PI certificates, and signed declarations. A PDF template will be published here shortly.
